Dr. Dusty Sachen grew up in the Chicago’s suburbs. Science classes were always her favorite in school. With her love of science and animals she realized becoming a veterinarian would be the perfect fit.
Dr. Sachen attended the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign for undergrad and was accepted into their veterinary program. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2010. Upon graduating she moved back home to be closer to family and friends. She decided to join the Riser Animal Hospital family in 2010 and has been a perfect addition to the team.
Dr. Sachen enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine. The most rewarding part of the job is getting to know her clients and seeing the close bond they have with their pets.
Dr. Sachen’s pet family includes Jedi and Barnaby. Jedi is a sweet 9 year old mix breed dog that Dr. Sachen adopted from the surgery program while she was in vet school. Barnaby is a goofy 7 year old black lab that she adopted while in vet school as well. During her free time she enjoys long walks with her dogs, and spending time with her family. She also enjoys a good book and drinking coffee with way too much sugar.
