Dr. Lisa Wardisiani is from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL. At the age of 7 she fell in love with her aunt’s cats and then began sneaking home gerbils and hamsters. Initially she wanted to be a horse jockey, but realized that she just might be too tall for that. Once her parents got her a cat she was hooked. From that moment, she knew she was meant to work with animals.
Dr. Wardisiani attended Triton College for undergrad before receiving her Bachelors from the University of Illinois. In 2000, she received her Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Shortly thereafter she began working at Riser Animal Hospital and has loved being able to provide quality care to her patients ever since.
Dr. Wardisiani is married to John, a science teacher. They have two wonderful children, Grace and Noah who keep her quite busy. She has a 3 year old American Bulldog named Charlie. Charlie is a big ole baby. She also shares her home with two kitties, Simba a 10 year old orange tabby with a bobcat tail and Sagwa, an 8 year old who enjoys sleeping with his own blanket. During her spare time she has a secret passion for dance and is a licensed Zumba instructor. She also enjoys reading and just relaxing with her family.
